Hiking in the Park

There are over 700 trails inside Glacier National Park.  Mountain lakes, traverses over the Continental Divide, and countless waterfalls, creeks, and mountain peaks await.  There are several major trail heads within a 30 minute drive of Essex.  Popular destinations include the Two Medicine Region (home to multiple waterfalls), Avalanche Lake near Lake MacDonald, and the High-line Trail at Logan Pass.  And don't forget to check out the Walton Ranger Station, just across the river from the Inn, where dozens miles of trails originate.
